Revslengen - Picture book
For my FMP I created a picture book showing my family's cabin on the hillside of a lake that I visit every summer. it has been in our family for generations, and is small and remote, but the scenery and location makes it my favourite place to be.

Size: 20 x 20 cm
Materials: Watercolour on multimedia paper, touched up in Procreate and Photoshop
Cover page, depicting the forest, with the roof of the cabin poking out through the trees. The title "Revslengen" is the name of the cabin.
Title page, depicturing a sleeping fox. The title "Revslengen" refers to a time when the a fox jumped in front of a wagon with horses, scaring the horses and tipping the wagon. this happened when building the cabin.
Spread 1, depicting the small yellow-painted bedroom my family of four would sleep in. The cabin was small and whole families were often sleeping in one room.
Spread 2, picturing a typical Norwegian breakfast table. We would be entire families of 10-12 people around the small table.
Spread 3, the view from the outside of our cabin.
Spread 4, an unfinished painting of the path down to the big lake.
Spread 5, the small beach around the lake, where we spend the warmest days on.
Spread 6, On our way up to the cabin, with the big gate outside the property.
Spread 7, picking blueberries at the forest floor.
Spread 8, our path up to the fishing lakes.
Spread 9, unfinished spread of the lakes we fish in, with the soft bog surrounding it.
Spread 10, our favourite lake, with a rock me and my younger sister would sit and enjoy cookies on as a kid.
Spread 11, the gorgeous sunsets that spread over the lakes every evening.
Spread 12, on our way home from the lake. when the sun sets the forest is always gorgeous.
Spread 13, unfinished spread from our window in the cabin. during the night the sky is filled with bats catching insects.
Spread 14, unfinished spread, at the end of the day we always enjoy playing cards in the light of the fireplace.
Body of Work pt 2 - Freefall
For the Body of Work pt2 project, I took inspiration from a song called "It's Called: Freefall" by the band Rainbow Kitten Surprise. The song talks about trying to separate oneself from the devil, but realizing you are more alike than you would expect, and that the devil isn't as evil as you once expected. I see this as a metaphor for not blaming seeing everyone as more evil than yourself, because at the end of the day people are more alike than you would think.
