Emilie "Em" Ertsland is a 22 year old creative student from the capital of Norway, Oslo. 
from a young age she enjoyed expressing her creativity through a handful medias, and would spend her days drawing, painting, or working with clay, often creating her own universes of characters, all with unique designs and personalities.

From early on she realized her enjoyment in working with art, and always excelled in her primary and middle school art projects, even deciding on picking design and re-design as an optional subject in middleschool.

 

once she graduated middleschool in 2016, she applied for Edvard Munch High School, a school specializing in the creative arts like illustration, architecture and music. while getting her normal high school education, half her hours every week was also filled with various courses in art, everything from croquis, product design and susteinable architecture, giving her a better idea of what she wanted to do once she had finished high school, and helped her develop her artistic skills from a hobby-level to something more professional. 

 

Her high school education gave Em an advantage when applying for universities, where she applied for a two-year illustration course at Fagskolen Kristiania, a renowned private school specializing in a broad spectum of different courses and educations. Here she got to try her hands on screenprinting, something she fell in love with, along with storyelling through art. being able to tell a story through her illustrations had always been something Em enjoyed, so getting to do this under professional guidance was something she thuroughly enjoyed, and even through a pandemic she graduated with finished works in advertisement, product illustrations and illustrations in student-written childrens books.

 

Ems work is creative, vibrant and lively, portraying characters and enviroments filled with colour and life. her love for both traditional and digital art lets her artwork work in any type of media, with her attention to detail and knowledge in colortheory and proportions allowing her to create one of a kind dynamic and fun artworks for any occation.
